PIERRE PAULIN LOUNGE CHAIRS FROM THE SIXTIES

Before the second worldwar, when Artifort already had become quite a large and well-known furniture company in the Netherlands, the name of the company still wasn’t sounding very catchy: H. Wagemans & Van Tuinen. During the economic crisis of the late 1920ies – 1930ies, the name ‘Artifort’ was introduced, and from the fifties and sixties Artifort got more appreciation by the international market, thanks to designer Kho Liang Ie who recruited the French designer Pierre Paulin ( 1927-2009 ).

Sensuous curves and simplicity..Paulin developed this remarkable organic looking lounge chairs and they have been in production since the 1960ies. For all Pierre Paulin designs, please have a look at cencity.nl
