Atelier Artiforte was a small company based in Rotterdam, specialized in hand-crafted lighting fixtures and nowadays well-known by their very progressive lighting designs, created by Kho Liang Ie, Johan Niegeman and H. Fillekes. Comparing to many other fifties design, Artiforte was able to create products which evoke a remarkable timeless appearance, and used quite delicate materials for many of their designs such as the thin, reinforced fiber tube for the ST-46 by Kho Liang Ie, or the nickel-like ‘satin’ chromed metal for many of the designs by H. Fillekes.
