Large floor lights by harvey guzzini ( iguzzini ) italy 1970

In the early fifties, the sons of Mariano Guzzini founded a small Italian company, ‘Harvey Creazioni’. The name is a reference to Harvey, the invisible imaginary friend of James Stewart in the film ‘Harvey’ ( 1950 ). After first producing artistic brass objects, the production later was supplemented by the manufacture of lighting equipment in plastic. This big pole light with huge globe on top has become a well-known design icon of the 20th century. It is made of a Chrome-plated metal base and pole, the sphere is made of perspex. These lamps evoke a warm atmosphere of light thanks to the diffused material of the spheres.
